Kimmy is a seasoned world travel and college graduate. She is currently employed as a Community Director for the March of Dimes, where she works to save babies!
As a young girl Kimmy moved with her mom Cindy, dad Dennis, and sister Tiffany to Costa Rica. There she attended kindergarten in Spanish. First through third grade were also in Spanish at a small school called Sasoeta located in the charming town of Lasarte, Guipuzkoa, Spain. The summer before fourth grade her missionary parents moved her stateside for a year furlough. While in the United States, Kimmy learned to read in English and quickly fell in love with the world of literature. When the family returned to Spain she was re-enrolled in Sasoeta. Unfortunately the school did not work out and she then studied sixth grade by correspondence with Evangelical Christian Academy in Madrid, Spain. For seventh and eight grade Kimmy and her family lived in Madrid and eventually moved back to Eugene, Oregon so the girls could attend the rest of high school in English.
High school was tough but after two schools and four years, Kimmy graduated in 2001 with honors from Willamette High School all becauseĀ of the support of her parents, grandparents, sister, and best friend Katie. Two weeks after graduation Kimmy left the United States for nine months of world traveling. She traveled to Romania on a mission’s trip, toured Europe with Tiffany, studied at a Bible school in Switzerland, and served God through out South East Asia.
Kimmy finally settled down in fall of 2002 and began studying Journalism at the University of Oregon. School flew by. After eight short terms, God only knows how many hours of work study and Christian Supply, and countless Oregon Marching Band rehearsals and performances she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts from the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon.
Kimmy went through several jobs till she landed the perfect position- Community Director for the Southern Oregon Division of the March of Dimes (read: professional fundraiser!).
Today, Kimmy can be found saving babies with the March of Dimes, riding her horses in West Eugene, canning and preserving food, cooking for friendsĀ or gardening.
